Adding single pass program not working
Posted by: Embak - 2016 Jun 05, 03:18 PM - Forum: Report a problem - Replies (2)

I am running SIP software version: 3.1.46 (2016-04-30).

Trying to solve a water hammer problem, I deleted all the programs and started to create new ones with overlapping durations with a single station per program.

When I create new programs, I select the "Single pass" non recurring option and save.  The program list shows a "Recuring every..." setting.  Editing it again shows that program option is set for "recurring".

I solved this by changing the recurring interval to 1 minute.  It seems that the "Single Pass / Recuring" button doesn't have any effect and that a recurring interval of 1 minute = "Single Pass".

Can-you confirm this behavior ?

Regards.

  Water hammer problem
Posted by: Embak - 2016 Jun 04, 02:42 PM - Forum: Installation and set up questions - Replies (1)

Hi,

I have a OSPi + SIP installation with 22 active Orbit valves feed by my house water supply trough a 3/4" backwater valve.  Some stations have large water flow.  When SIP programs switch from station to station I experience water hammer shock.  I found that having station operation switching with some overlap (say 5 seconds) it avoid this water hammer problem.

Is there a way to have station operation overlap (within and between programs) ?  Beside reprogramming all the SIP programs so that each of them have a single station with proper start time and duration.

BTW huge thank to DAN for this incredible application.  OSPi+SIP allowed me to upgrade from an inflexible and messy control setup containing 4 Orbit 4-6 zone timers.

In the future, I will add a master control valve and would like to add water pressure, water flow and even moisture sensors.  It will allow a better optimization of water usage and diagnostic of the valve / head / plumbing problems.  I have professional embedded system programming experience and could help implement these features.

Regards.

Check the status of a cistern when SIP zone is active
Posted by: tfcb - 2016 May 13, 09:00 PM - Forum: Writing plugins - Replies (6)

Hi,

My sprinkler system uses both cistern and city water. I'd like to use the cistern water until empty and then switch to city water.

If the system is running I need to check once per minute to see if the cistern still has water (I already have a way to test this) and turn on the city water if not. I'd also like to ensure that the city water value is closed and cistern pump off if the system isn't running.

What are your thoughts on the best way to implement?

Thanks,

Tim

  PCF 8591
Posted by: psekinho - 2016 May 12, 07:17 AM - Forum: Plugin questions - Replies (2)

Hello,
I would like to have some more info regarding this plugin. What i want is a method to inform me that valves are getting power after i open the relay. So if i understand correct i can use  voltage sensors connected to the PCF and then to RPi and have info about their status?
Also do i have to connect it first and afterwards enable the plugin, because right now it gives me an internal server error.
Thank you.

  New setup with relay_board plugin
Posted by: INSANESNWBRDR@GMAIL.COM - 2016 May 09, 06:05 AM - Forum: Installation and set up questions - Replies (5)

im having issues with the relay_board plugin.

the config is setup as ACTIVE LOW with 12 relays

every relay is constant LOW meaning active and i cannot get them to activate or change.

if i change the number of relays in the plug setting and restart SIP the active relays will change to the number set in config.  ie if i set it as 1 the number 1 relay goes active if 12 the first 12 on the board go on.

the setup is a PI 3 and 16 channel relay board with its own external power.

  New Setup Question
Posted by: cepeders - 2016 May 06, 11:10 PM - Forum: Installation and set up questions - Replies (3)

I am new to sprinklers and SIP, so this is probably my mistake, but i can't figure it out. I have been trying to get my new system setup. It is one zone feeding a drip irrigation system right now. I can't figure out what is happening. With the hardware off the valve is closed. When boot up the Pi the water stays off. That makes sense, but when I then do a 'run once' for say 30 seconds the system stays off, then when the 30 seconds is up the system comes on (the status in SIP says OFF). If I do a 'run once' for another 30 seconds it turns off when the program starts and turns on when it ends. If I then select 'system off' it turns the water off.

The valve I am using is an Irritrol 2500T (http://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/Irritr.../2500t.htm)

Any thoughts on what might be happening?

  Stations get stuck
Posted by: psekinho - 2016 May 03, 11:27 AM - Forum: Report a problem - Replies (5)

There seems to be a bug when using greek language on web interface. If i use for example run once program and set 2 stations to open, first one closes and second stays open on 1s remaining. If i press stop all stations, the stuck station closes. Then if i do run-once again, stations go green with the time inside brackets and nothing happens. The same thing when using english is not happening. All is working as it should. Bug occurs only when i turn greek language on.

  Rain Sensor
Posted by: psekinho - 2016 May 03, 11:23 AM - Forum: Plugin questions - Replies (6)

I have this rain sensor: https://www.hellasdigital.gr/electronics...r-arduino/
As far as i understand i connect it on 3,3v and gnd. And then what about GPIO for D0? I just use whatever GPIO i have free or there is a specific one so the SIP can read it?
Also does it need any programming or connecting the cables and enabling it in SIP is enough?

  Upgrading from 2.0.3
Posted by: jbirdlebough@msn.com - 2016 May 02, 10:36 AM - Forum: Report a problem - Replies (1)

I have an early OSPi on 2.0.3, has problems with clock drift, remembering correct time zone, frequently shows via putty that its local system time is year 2000, and trouble displaying true status.

Would like to upgrade but its unclear new code will run original board.

Will that work?

Thanks
