It would be nice to be able to enable/disable stations through the API similar to how we can start/stop stations through the API.

You can already. e.g. to disable station 5 use http://<sip-ip>/cs?sh0=239
sh0 is the decimal representation of eight bits of the 8 (in my case) stations
