Openhab2 supported?

There is an Openhab2 binding available for OpenSprinkler. Should that also work with SIP? I tried to get the binding working but it does not communicate with the SIP installation.

If the OpenHab binding works with the OpenSprinkler unified C++ program it probably will not work with SIP.

SIP has an API that is based on an older version of OpenSprinkler but it is probably not compatible with the newer version.
